Jaheim Hoagland (created May 26, 1978) is an American R&B vocalist and former rapper, better known by his stage name of Jaheim. His second attempt, “Still Ghetto” (2002), includes the hit “Put That Woman First” (2003), each of which reached platinum success.
His dad died in 1981, when he was just three years of age. His grandpa sang with many top groups, including The Drifters, as well as their family reunions were large songfests. Singing at family reunions and local talent shows preceded a successful tryout in the Apollo Theater’s talent show. He won the competition three times when he was fifteen. A couple of years after, he experienced disaster when his mom died. Four years after her passing, he recorded a tape that caused a deal with Divine Mill Records (a division of Warner Bros. Records). Appearing with Hoagland on his first record was RL (from Next), Blackstreet, and Darren and Cliff Lighty. His second album, Still Ghetto, was launched on November 5, 2002. Another Top Ten hit, it put two singles in the Top 40, “Wonderful” and “Anything” (released November 13, 2001). Ghetto Classics followed in early 2006 and became his first number one record. The Makings of a Guy premiered in December 2007. In late 2009 the single “Ain’t Leavin Without You” preceded his 2010 record Another Round. In 2013 Jaheim return to the music business using a brand new single titled, “Age Ain’t a Factor” and new record. His sixth record Appreciation Day premiered in September 3, 2013. He seen St. Johns University in 2010, expected to record success he picked to put school off to promote his debut album Another Round.
