Missy Elliott net worth 2017, biography & wiki:

From arrival, Missy’s family moved from town to town because of her dad’s military service. Although incredibly intelligent, Elliot did not flourish scholastically. Instead she was the typical “class clown” learning from a young age to make use of comedy and performing as an easy way to make friends also to escape her cruel home life. At 14, she and her mom would flee from years of verbal as well as physical abuse from Elliot’s dad. In a 2011 interview, Missy disclosed she was also sexually molested in the hands of an older cousin.

At four years of age, Missy would declare her want to be an entertainer, even though it could be many years before anyone would take her seriously. Starting her career as mostly a music producer and songwriter in the early 1990’s, Missy created and composed content for Jodeci, Raven Symone, Craig Mack and collaborated with future mega producer, Timbaland.

After little rap cameos on numerous singles, Missy chose to try her hand in a solo endeavor releasing her debut album, Supa Dupa Fly in 1997. The record would prove extremely successful, going platinum and earning a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Album. In 2002, after two more notable records, Missy released her most successful record to date Under Building, which The New York Times praised as “the year’s finest hip hop record.” In 2003 and 2005, Elliot released two more solo jobs that have stopped to coincide with the success of Missy’s earlier work. Missy has expressed her desire to get a family and an interest to perhaps embrace later on.
