Automobiles and Motorcycles


Typically, automobiles have four to eight wheels and an internal combustion engine. The engine produces power for the wheels and produces electricity to run other systems. Most vehicles have an engine in the front.

The automobile industry is one of the largest industries in the world. It is responsible for providing millions of jobs around the world. The demand for vehicles is increasing each year.

Thousands of component parts are used in automobiles. The most common vehicles are based on gasoline and high speed diesel. They are generally four or five passengers. Typically, the body of the car is made of steel, but it may be made of plastic or fiberglass.

Automobiles have changed the way we live. They are highly complex technical systems. They consume natural resources, pollute the air, and cause problems. Thankfully, the industry is working on developing alternative power sources for future cars.

One of the first industries to use assembly lines was the automobile industry. This made cars more affordable for middle-class families. The automotive industry grew rapidly during the first half of the twentieth century.

In the United States, the gasoline-powered automobile swept the streets by 1920. This was due in part to increased economic development and a higher per capita income. The car industry rebounded after World War II and introduced new features.

Another technological advancement was the invention of the motorcycle. Two German engineers designed the first commercially available motorcycle in 1894.
