Vince Young Biography

Young was drafted by the Tennessee Titans with the third overall pick in the 2006 NFL Draft. He spent the very first five seasons of his career together with the Titans. In 2009, Young earned his second Pro Bowl Choice and was named Sporting News NFL Comeback Player of the Year. Young played college football for the University of Texas. As a junior, he won the Davey O’Brien Award, given yearly to the top school quarterback in the country. He finished second behind Reggie Bush in Heisman Trophy voting. It had been among the most-anticipated matches in the annals of college football. Texas retired Young’s jersey on August 30, 2008.

3After Reggie Bush relinquished his Heisman Trophy in September 2010 in the wake of an investigation by the NCAA which revealed that he and his family had accepted improper gifts by two sports marketers, Young, who finished 2nd in the voting in 2005, said that the Downtown Athletic Club should give him the Trophy. However, the Heisman Trust decided to leave the award vacated for 2005.
