Guillermo del Toro Gmez (Spanish pronunciation:[iemo el also]; born October 9, 1964) is a Mexican film director, screenwriter, producer, and novelist. He was initially selected by Peter Jackson to direct “The Hobbit” movies; he left the job as a result of production issues but was still credited as co-writer for his numerous contributions to the script.

Del Toro’s work is characterised by way of a powerful link to fairy tales and horror, with the endeavor to infuse visual or poetic beauty. He’s got a lifelong fascination with creatures, which he considers symbols of great power. Del Toro is famous for his usage of insectile and spiritual vision, the themes of Catholicism and observing imperfection, underworld and clockwork motifs, dominant amber illumination, and his regular cooperation with performers Ron Perlman and Doug Jones.

Following The Tune’s pilot episode, del Toro started directing Crimson Peak, a gothic horror movie he co-composed with Matthew Robbins and Lucinda Cox. Del Toro described the movie as “a quite set-oriented, ancient but in the exact same time modern take on the ghost story”, mentioning The Omen, The Exorcist and The Shining as sways. Del Toro said, “I believe folks are becoming used to horror themes done as found footage or B-worth funds. I needed this to feel just like a throwback.” Creation commenced February 2014 in Toronto, with an April 2015 release date planned.
