Edward Joel Kowalczyk (created July 16, 1971) is an American musician, as well as a founding member of the group Live. Since leaving Live in 2009, he’s started a solo career. His first record, “Alive”, was released worldwide in June and July 2010.
Ed Kowalczyk was the lead singer and principal songwriter for the band Live. In 2009, he left the group as well as another three members issued a statement detailing what they felt were improper activities by Kowalczyk. Kowalczyk has been sued by the group, seeking damages and an injunction against utilizing the name “Live”. Following his departure from Live, Kowalczyk recorded his first solo album, Alive, that was released in 2010. In 2012 he recorded The Garden as well as in 2013 The Flooding as well as the Clemency. He featured on the tune “Evolution Revolution Love,” from the 2001 Tricky record Blowback.
